Retired High School Principal Married 2
When I was at Whitman, I was tiny. I started in 10th grade at 4' 10" and weighed less than 80 lbs. I played on the soccer team and wrestled, which were the highlights of high school for me as I was an average student at best. I had several friends but I find it amazing how many classmates I never got to know or never even met.

After graduation from Whitman, I attended American University and played Soccer there. I was chosen to the All-South Team twice and graduated with a degree in Health & Physical Education. I played two years with the Washington Diplomats in the North American Soccer League while teaching PE and coaching Wrestling and Boy's Soccer at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Va.

In 1978, I moved to Woodbridge Senior High School and coached Football, Wrestling and  Girl's Soccer. I married Camille Easterly in 1980 and we have two daughters who are both teachers. I obtained my Masters Degree in Secondary Administration from Va. Tech in 1989 and became an Assistant Principal in 1990. I was named Principal at WSHS in 2004 and retired in 2007. My wife says that retirement is "the best thing ever invented"! and I have learned not to argue with her.

In-house Counsel Eversource Energy Committed Relationship 2
The Dome may be demolished but my memories of Whitman are intact (as best as possible for my age).  I am looking forward to sharing  the journey our friends have been on since 1970 at our 50th reunion!

My journey has taken me to a career in energy law; a wonderful 23-year marriage; adoption of two beautiful girls from Russia; a sad divorce and loss of parents; many interesting countries; some good restaurants; exploration on and below the water (sailing and scuba); the Dharma; mixed results using on-line dating sites; finding the amazing Jean Parcher on MeetMindful.com (seriously); and all with the guidance and help of numerous teachers and friends along the path.

I'm currently living in North Bethesda near classmates Wendy Frosh (different floors in the same building!) and Steve Kennedy is down the street.

At some point I may answer the call of retirement, but not yet.

Retired park ranger Married 1
My father was in the navy, so after our sophomore year at Whitman, we moved to Charleston, SC where I graduated from Ashley Hall. After college, I returned to the DC area in order to work for the National Park Service starting in 1976. I worked on the National Mall and then the C&O Canal (where I lived in the lockhouse at Little Falls). I worked for 34 years in various parks all over the country and finished as superintendent of Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve in SE Alaska.

I met my husband, Robert Howard at Grand Teton NP, Wyoming. Together we worked in Tetons, Everglades (twice), Colorado (Bob at Rocky Mtn. NP, me in Ft. Collins), Yosemite, Santa Fe, and Texas (Bob at LBJ, me at San Antonio Missions).

We retired in 2010 and settled in Santa Fe. In retirement, I enjoy downhill skiing on our local hill, annual trips to scuba, biking and Master Gardeners. Bob and I are traveling while we can and spent 5 weeks in South Africa this last fall.

Artist www.janetgoldner.com Divorced
When I was at Whitman, I was involved with the Montgomery County Student Alliance, a countywide student organization that organized for education reform much like the demands that were being made in universities in the late 60’s.  We published an “underground” newspaper and a manifesto of demands.  Along with students from other high schools, we presented our demands at a hearing before the school board. I also leafleted local Safeways in support of the United Farms Workers grape boycott as well as being active in anti-war activities. I organized a counter-prom that was held on the Washington Monument grounds!

I got a BA from Antioch College and an MA from NYU in art. A life-long cultural journey began when I first traveled to West Africa while I was at Antioch. I returned to Mali as a Fulbright fellow in 1995, working with artists and artisans. I still travel to Mali every year to do research for my own work, collaborate with Malian artists and direct cultural projects.

My artwork explores culture, identity and social justice in various media: steel sculpture and installations that also include photography, video and sound. Bridging diverse cultures, my work celebrates the unique beauty and genius of each as well as what we have in common. I show my work nationally and internationally.

I’ve lived in New York City since the late ‘70’s. No retirement in sight!

NPR Newscaster (ret) jeancochran@jeancochran.net Single
I took the road less traveled.  Never married, pursued a career in journalism and devoted my life to NPR.  And I don't regret it for a minute! After working 33 years, writing news in the middle of the night and delivering it throughout the weekday mornings, I am thoroughly enjoying retirement.  Volunteering at the Washington EAR (reading the WashPostSports page for a dial-in handicap service) and narrating books and magazines for the Library of Congress' handicap service.  Also walking, biking, strength training and practicing yoga, all on a regular basis.  I'm going to return to my golf game soon!  I've also volunteered to be Webmaster for this-here Reunion site.  I'd love to hear from you!  And let me know of improvements or fixes you'd recommend.  See you on 10-10-2020! (Oh, and at the Pony Express Bar on 10-09-2020!)   /MJ Send MJ a MessageSend MJ a Message
